GVA has the largest dedicated rating team in the UK, and we have been retained by a number of clients in respect of the 2015 Rates Revaluation. We have assisted clients in completing the Form of Return (FOR) issued by Northern Ireland Land & Property Services, with whom we have strong channels of communication. It is imperative for businesses to ensure that their valuation is accurate, as this will determine future rates charges.


Rates represent an onerous overhead for any business. The core objective of our specialist rating department is to ensure that our clients' rates liability is kept to an absolute minimum.

We have offered services to a range of rate payers including retail and office tenants, licenced premises, local and national property owners and occupiers.


Our ethos for excellence and maximising rate savings is a Director led approach. GVA have 52 rating specialists based in 8 regional centres led by 23 Directors. We focus on proactive clear advice which ensures that the clients have as much certainty in their decision making as possible. Over the last twelve years we have achieved an average reduction per appealed assessment in excess of 13.5% delivering rate savings of circa £2 billion.
